“This is great news for PHD China and signifies a great start to 2009,” said Mark Heap, PHD China’s managing director who added that the agency’s work on premium brands such as Estée Lauder was relevant to winning the pitch.
“China is a dynamic and wealthy market. There is huge opportunity for luxury brands such as Tiffany, which has exciting expansion plans in China. Our job is to expand its strong brand positioning beyond Shanghai and Beijing, and utilise digital media more innovatively, as well as magazines, which are a critical advertising media for luxury brands,” he said.
Bulgari and Cartier are close competitors of Tiffany in the diamond jewellery segment in China.
Mindshare was believed to be in the first round of the pitch. The whole process of the pitch was monitored by R3.
