P&G shifts China media planning business to MediaCom

GUANGZHOU - Procter & Gamble (P&G) is understood to have transferred the Greater China communications planning business for three brands from Starcom to MediaCom without a pitch.

The lucrative account includes the three personal care brands Faceguard, Olay and Camay. The handover of the brands is believed to begin immediately, and is set to take full effect from January next year.

Starcom’s chief executive for North Asia, Paul Maher, declined to comment on the developments, while J Alfonso A De Dios, P&G’s associate director of Greater China media, was unavailable for comment.
