P&G selects two agencies for regional PR

SINGAPORE - Procter & Gamble (P&G) has selected two agencies to handle regional corporate PR duties, following a competitive review that began earlier this year (Media, 16 January).

P&G Asia external relations VP Erik Jonnaert told Media that the FMCG giant had chosen MS&L to handle regional corporate communications.

Meanwhile, added Jonnaert, Hill & Knowlton has been entrusted with crisis prevention and management at a regional level.

The company has also created a new regional structure that brings together all of the managers working in external relations, across brand PR, corporate, government relations, public affairs and consumer. “While all country teams continue to support the business locally, we now have created a framework for working more closely together and for exchanging best practices between markets,” said Jonnaert.

A number of agencies are believed to have pitched for the business, including existing incumbents Weber Shandwick, Fleishman-Hillard and Strategic Public Relations.
