P&G reviews media business in India

MUMBAI - Procter & Gamble is understood to have invited roster agencies to pitch for its India media business, estimated at US$80 million, with Starcom, MediaCom and Madison believed to be in the running.

P&G, which is fighting to carve a larger share of the Indian FMCG market, has sent out RFPs to media agencies on the pitch list.

The move comes as the company steps up its battle against market leader Unilever and prepares to increase brand activity in one of the region’s fastest growing markets. “P&G has been moving top people into this market and there are solid plans to aggressively boost its efforts in India,” said a source.
