P&G appoints head of marketing for Asia

SINGAPORE - Procter & Gamble has promoted Maile Carnegie, head of marketing for Australia, as head of marketing for Asia.

The role was created recently following the company’s restructuring process Asia One, which saw the centralisation of its operations for Asia under one market.

Sources suggest that Carnegie, who has already taken on the responsibility from Australia, is likely to relocate to Singapore in the next few weeks.

P&G’s Asia-Pacific market has until now been divided into three hubs: AAI (Asean, Australia and India), Greater China (China and Taiwan) and North Asia (Japan and Korea). As part of the restructuring, the global business units (GBUs) for each of the hubs were merged into one, hence the name Asia One. The objective of this restructuring is to ensure that brand and media strategy is developed centrally for the whole of Asia.
