Pfizer Animal Health appoints Interpublic Group in Australia

SYDNEY - Pfizer Animal Health has hired Interpublic Group (IPG) to handle all marketing communications for its brands in Australia.

The appointment was made following a recent tender and pitch process, which included incumbents Renard and Ogilvy.

The latest appointment aligns the pharmaceutical company’s pet and livestock brands with IPG, which already oversees all pharmaceutical brands for the company in Australia.

Chris Mort, McCann Worldgroup Australia chairman and CEO, said: “We are delighted to be growing our relationship with Pfizer through this appointment. It is a tremendous endorsement of our combined IPG capabilities and to grow our existing client responsibilities is always the most satisfying.”

“This is another significant win for our group, demonstrating the breadth and depth of the talent we have across all disciplines” added Gary Pattison, managing director of healthcare communications for McCann Worldgroup in Australia.

Pfizer Animal Health is the developer of some of the world’s leading vaccines and prescription medicines for pets and farm animals such as cattle and swine.

The company also develops products for beef, dairy and swine producers as well as veterinarians.
