Petronas hands global corporate to BBDO

KUALA LUMPUR - Petronas, the Malaysian oil and gas giant, has handed its international corporate account to BBDO after a four-way pitch that involved McCann Erickson, Lowe and Leo Burnett.

Sources suggest there is no incumbent for the account as it is a new initiative that is being undertaken by Petronas. The company’s domestic corporate, motor sports and lubricants account will continue to be handled by Leo Burnett.

Petronas, the acronym for Petroliam Nasional Berhad, was incorporated on 17 August 1974 and is ranked among the Fortune Global 500 largest corporations in the world. The company has four subsidiaries listed on the Bursa Malaysia and has ventured globally into more than 32 countries worldwide in its aspiration to be a leading oil and gas multinational.
