PermataBank calls full-service pitch

JAKARTA - Indonesian banking giant PermataBank has called a full-service review of its advertising arrangements, putting one year incumbent Y&R on high alert.

Four agencies including Lowe, Blue Circle, Coleman Handoko and incumbent Y&R are believed to be involved in the pitch.

Last year in September, PermataBank consolidated its creative and media account with Y&R after a four-way pitch that involved DDB Brainstorm, Coleman Handoko and Blue Cirlce.

Sources suggest that as a second tier bank PermataBank is struggling for visibility at a time when first tier banks have already established themselves firmly.

PermataBank was established in 2002 as a result of a merger of five bank and was acquired by Standard Chartered Bank and Astra International in 2004 kickstarting a major transformation. It currently serves 1.9 million customers spread across 55 Indonesian cities and operates 267 conventional branches.
