PepsiCo India's 7UP breaks 18-year JWT tie for BBDO

NEW DELHI - PepsiCo India has replaced JWT on its 7UP business, signing on BBDO India as creative agency-of-record.

The decision to appoint the Omnicom agency was made following a competitive pitch against Grey Worldwide, Rediffusion DY&R, Draft FCB (Ulka), Mudra DDB and Lowe India. BBDO will establish a new enterprise with 7UP as the founding client. “We are creating a new agency, BBDO India, and 7UP is our first brand assignment in the country. We couldn't have hoped for a more iconic brand to launch with,” said Chris Thomas, chairman and CEO, BBDO Asia.

The new agency will begin its assigned duties from 1 November, drawing on the resources of BBDO Asia and its other Indian entity, RK Swamy BBDO. JWT India, which has worked with PepsiCo for 18 years, will remain responsible for PepsiCo’s other brands, including Pepsi, Mirinda, Tropicana amongst the others.
