Peoples changes corporate name

HONG KONG - Telecoms company Peoples, previously owned by China Resources Group and which has been a subsidiary of China Mobile since 2006, has changed its corporate brand name to China Mobile Hong Kong, though its service brand will remain as Peoples.

Josephine Tong, corporate communications manager of China Mobile Hong Kong, said: “The Company has undergone many changes in the past two years, and it’s the right time to tighten our relationship with our parent company and change our company name.”

She added: “Our products and services will be linked more closely to our mother company in terms of network quality, scope of services and products, particularly in cross-border mobile services.”

Grey Hong Kong helped Peoples launch a one-card multi-number service in late November, which aimed at frequent Chinese travellers who need convenient mobile communication to maintain contact with family, relatives, friends and co-workers. The campaign included TVC, print and OOH.
