HONG KONG The Peninsula Hong Kong has launched a programme tailoring high-end conferences and meetings for upper management of regional companies. The hotel interviewed 600 planners from "Fortune 500-type" companies and launched its "From 8 to 80" campaign. Hotel director of marketing Mr Arthur Kiong said C&M activity in the hotel accounted for about 7% of all activity but after research with decision-makers for this campaign he expects that figure to rise to 10% next year. "Even though there is a perception that companies are cutting costs, there is still a demand for the type of high-end product this hotel offers," Mr Kiong said. "The Peninsula caters to middle to senior upper management. Our programme offers discretion and very private space." The hotel's Marco Polo Suite which can seat 25 boardroom style and still have enough room to set up a buffet lunch and a coffee break table.
