Titled ‘Souls of Asia’, the painting depicts the modern N-series models set against a mélange of traditional Asian settings: a Chinese junk and a pagoda. The visual feat took a total of 36 hours to draw and can be found underneath a tent outside Raffles City Mall in Singapore.
According to a Nokia spokesperson, the sponsorship was part of a regular commit-ment by Nokia to foster Singapore’s art scene.
This is Beever’s first drawing in Asia, most of whose time is spent in Europe and the US. His trademark chalk drawings — which have also been commissioned by Coca-Cola and Sony — appear to pop out of the ground when viewed from a certain angle.
