Accenture Song brings back founding member to lead Southeast Asia

Patricio De Matteis is no stranger to the business or the region.

Former Dentsu ANZ CEO Patricio De Matteis has announced his return to Accenture Song to lead Southeast Asia (SEA).

De Matteis was a founding global member of Accenture Interactive (now Accenture Song) and formerly CEO of the Asia Pacific business, where he spent 14 years from 2004 to 2018. During his tenure, he helped scale the business to more than 3,000 employees and over US$2 billion in revenue.

He steps into the SEA role currently held by Simone Morandi, who took on an expanded remit in July 2025 to oversee both SEA and Asia Oceania. Both Morandi and De Matteis will now report to APAC lead Junichiro Kurokawa, who has been double-hatting as Japan head and Song's APAC boss since the same reshuffle.

“I was part of the founding team that built this business in APAC, so coming back now feels both familiar and new,” De Matteis said in a LinkedIn post. “Southeast Asia is one of the most dynamic regions in the world. It is diverse, fast-moving, ambitious and full of possibility. I felt it the moment I stepped off the plane (that, and the humidity). I'm looking forward to working with our teams and clients across the region to build what comes next, bringing together creativity, data, AI and technology to help businesses grow in ways that are practical, human and measurable.”

De Matteis began his career at Kellogg’s, followed by roles at Coca-Cola and Cognizant. Most recently, he served as CEO of Dentsu ANZ from2023 to 2025. He brings more than 25 years of experience across marketing, digital, and consulting in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Mexico.
