BANGKOK The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and CEI Asia Pacific have launched a series of seminars for professionals in the conference, exhibition and incentive industries to boost the industry's profile in the region.
The PATA-CEI Asia Pacific MICE Seminar Series will host its first event in Bangkok on October 4 and 5 at the Plaza Athenee Hotel.
It has attracted some of the most respected industry figureheads to make presentations.
A PATA spokesman said the aim of the seminar series is help to focus industry awareness on the potential which the meetings, conventions and incentive sector offers.
PATA believed CEI Asia Pacific was the best media partner in the region to achieve this.
Thailand's deputy prime minister HE Mr Pongpol Adireksarn will start the Bangkok seminar with the opening keynote presentation.
The sessions will involve respected regional industry professionals.
Pacific Leisure Thailand executive chairman Mr Alwin Zecha, Pacific World chairman Mr Jacques Arnoux, Thai Airways industrial relations manager Ms Suprabha Moleelatanakul are among those on the speaking roster.
Creative Destination Management managing director Mr Sumate Sudasna, Mint Motivation managing director Mr Nigel Gaunt, Diethelm events manager Mr David Barrett and EventClicks chief executive officer Mr Tom Murphy will also address the seminar.
The closing address will be by Asian Trails owner and Thailand PATA chapter chairman Mr Luzi Matzig.
