Panasonic retains Publicis

BANGKOK - Panasonic has reappointed Publicis as its creative agency for its Lumix digital camera range in Thailand after a multi-agency pitch.

The Japanese consumer electronics giant, which pitches its accounts yearly in Thailand, invited JWT, incumbent Publicis and regional agency-of-record Dentsu to contest the business, estimated to be worth US$1 million in billings.

Publicis is believed to have impressed the client - both in Thailand and Japan - with recent work for Lumix, such as last month's 'photo fight' campaign. Even so, the agency was obliged to repitch after winning the account last summer. Publicis holds the Lumix contract for a year.
