SINGAPORE American Express Corporate Travel has appointed Pacific World to provide its corporate customers services in meetings, events, conference and incentive travel. The partnership came into effect in July. "Strategic partnerships and alliances would be the right way forward in this day and age," Pacific World director of sales Mr Victor Seah said. "We complement each other. They do all the corporate travel and we do all the ground handling and conference management. We are the fulfilment arm for meetings, events, conference and incentive services. "So far, we have had request for proposals from ten corporations, one fully fledged incentive and nine meetings. If all goes well, we are hoping to get our first event of about 200 delegates in either Bali or Australia." The DMC will be handling Singapore outbound corporate business for about 200 American Express clients. Prospective clients have asked Pacific World for quotes to places such as Shanghai, Bangkok, Phuket, Bintan and Cairns. Most meeting sizes range from 30 to 300. "Quite a number are international staff meetings. Some are for top management while others are company wide meetings," Mr Seah added. Clients will use their American Express' corporate card to invoice Pacific World for their services.
