Pacific Coffee signs digital advertisers

HONG KONG Pacific Coffee is stepping up its brand battle against Starbucks with the launch of Asia's first digital media network at its local outlets.

The new platform enables advertisers to tap into the coffee chain's 35,000 daily customers through 63 high-definition LCD screens at 34 Pacific Coffee outlets in the city.
The in-house media channel, provided by New Digital Noise, has already signed up Canon, SmarTone and Nokia as advertisers.
"It is still at a very early stage, but the initial response has been positive among advertisers. It appears the value is more on the customer profile and matching with the correct promotions," said Andy Ann, director of New Digital Noise, the company bringing the new technology to Asia.
