CEO
Quantum Jump
New Zealand

For nearly 30 years, Ben Goodale has helped shape loyalty, CRM, and data-driven marketing in New Zealand — building agencies, mentoring talent, and creating programmes still used by millions of consumers every day. At age 50, rather than slowing down, he started again.

Originally educated in Scotland with a Masters in History and MSc in Marketing, Goodale relocated to New Zealand in 1998 and quickly rose through agency leadership. At TBWA\Tequila Auckland, he quadrupled the agency in size and earned global recognition including at Cannes Lions. In 2006, he founded justONE, building it into a leading Kiwi one-to-one marketing agency and developing loyalty programmes including Farmers Club and Subway Subcard — later taken global. The agency went on to win industry accolades before being acquired by Clemenger Group in 2013.

His most significant achievements came after turning 50. In 2019, Goodale founded Quantum Jump, building it into yet another of New Zealand's leading independent agencies. The agency has delivered strong revenue growth over the past five years, maintained key clients, and achieved a staff retention rate above 80%.

At Quantum Jump, 65 per cent of management roles are held by women. Goodale has long championed flexible working arrangements and served as Chair of the Marketing Association's Agency Council from 2007 to 2012. Today, as an elected board member of the Commercial Communications Council, he represents independent agencies and ensures smaller shops have a voice.
