Adam Najberg
Founder & managing director
Pingshu Comms
Singapore
Adam "Naj" Najberg entered the world of marcomms and branding in 2015, after a quarter-century as a radio reporter, award-winning financial reporter, video journalist, and editor. He has performed a high-wire act without a net ever since.
Tasked with starting up or building out communications and content teams at DJI, Alibaba, and Tencent — three of the world's largest technology companies — Najberg faced added complexity from the start, with senior roles at Chinese tech companies navigating constant reputational, short-selling, and geopolitical pressures. These high-profile roles left almost zero margin for error.
At Alibaba, he played a central role in transforming the company's blog into Alizila.com, now widely modelled and emulated as a content hub and highly valuable owned channel. The platform reached one million Facebook followers in 10 months, and during the 11.11 Global Shopping Festival, drove six-plus million unique monthly visitors through live blogs, streaming video, and a real-time GMV counter. At Tencent, he oversaw the creation of digital assets for Level Infinite, the company's first global video games publishing brand. At DJI, he launched its Drone Content Lab.
Najberg is almost religious about the need for companies to adopt a narrative approach, teaching teams and executives to own their own stories. In 2025, he founded Pingshu Comms, bringing that philosophy to a broader client base.
Beginning in 1997, long before turning 50, he decided to pay it forward, mentoring well over 250 young men and women — inspired by mentors who guided him pro bono early in his own career.
To Quote: "In his four-plus years at Alibaba, Naj made communications and content as digital as the rest of the Ali ecosystem." - Rachel Chan, former VP global public affairs at Alibaba.
