Orbis Skincare taps M&C Saatchi in HK

Japanese cosmetics firm Orbis Skincare has hired M&C Saatchi to help establish the brand in Hong Kong's competitive beauty products market after a pitch involving two other agencies.

Orbis, whose main line is its Oil Cut Skincare products, has embarked on an aggressive expansion spree in Hong Kong since entering the market less than two years ago, opening stores in the city's major retail districts, including Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom.

"The challenge is to help the client cut through the huge cosmetic market clutter," said M&C Saatchi Hong Kong MD Sylvia Lee, "and leverage the unique concept of the brand".

Orbis hopes to build on a trend in Hong Kong favouring Japanese cosmetics, targeting young women and teenagers.
