OPINION: Consumers are all dancing to the tune of sport

As forms of entertainment, it is natural that sport and music should interface with each other. Indeed, there is a long and illustrious history of such an association. The brass band, once a regular feature at cricket, horse-racing and football venues, has been superceded by catchy TV themes (often borrowed from classical composers) and tragically graduated into, horror of horrors, pop hits recorded by the players themselves, more often than not with little or no musical talent whatsoever.
