Ong spearheads creative, client drive at Lowe KL

KUALA LUMPUR: Ong Bee Lin has been appointed general manager of Lowe KL in a newly-created post, to develop new business, handle staff training, manage reputation and to head major accounts such as Unilever.

Ong has been in the industry for more than 13 years, most recently with Grey as director of client services.

Upon her arrival at Lowe, Ong has already set the bar by aiming for the agency to be among the top five most creative agencies in Malaysia by end 2005. She also intends to boost business growth, but intends to be "aggressive, but selective" in order to ensure a good match between new clients and the agency.

After the recent global loss of HSBC, Ong admitted that the financial services category - consumer banking and insurance - is a priority at Lowe.

Lowe KL recently won the Alliance Merchant Bank and Digi Telecommunications accounts.
