Customer loyalty does not appear to be profitable. Over the past 10 years, it has been promoted as the panacea to the problem of retaining a company's customer base. Many of these programmes have been successful and have helped reduce customer churn. Despite this success, companies remain unclear as to the impact their "loyal" customer has on profitability.
