ONE-TO-ONE MARKETING: BBDO boosts HK offer with direct marketing arm

HONG KONG: BBDO Asia-Pacific has launched Proximity, its customer relationship management and direct marketing arm, in Hong Kong.

Tom Kao, vice-chairman, BBDO Asia-Pacific, said: "By opening Proximity in Hong Kong, we are not only responding to the changing realities of the market, but also showing an example of our confidence in the market and how we can add value to our client's business where it is most needed.

Proximity Hong Kong will complement our positioning of being the creative driven network with specialist skill sets in CRM and integrated communications."

Jon Pye will head the Hong Kong operation as managing director and executive creative director, while Anna Kamenskaya has been named client services director. Both were previously at Rapp Collins (which recently merged with its sister agency Tribal DDB in Hong Kong to form Beyond DDB, a below-the-line and CRM agency).

Pye, who has more than 10 years' experience in the industry, said marketers today were anxious to maximise the value of customer relationship with their brands. Proximity also has offices in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. The Hong Kong and Singapore offices will work together to provide clients with online and offline work.
