According to sources, the Reckitt Benckiser client was not comfortable with OMD pitching for a rival company. The group produces brands including Brylcreem, Ridsect and Kiwi shoe polish.
Starcom MediaVest Group has replaced OMD on the pitch list. The Publicis Groupe agency will compete with GroupM, the incumbent in most markets, and Aegis Media's Carat.
Agencies have yet to be briefed or made aware of a pitch date, but an appointment is expected to be made by the end of August.
Sara Lee's regional marketing director Mario Salvatore had not responded to Media's calls at press time.

ASIA-PACIFIC - OMD has withdrawn from the upcoming US$25 million regional media review of Sara Lee because of conflict with Reckitt Benckiser, one of the Omnicom network's largest globally aligned clients.
