OMD appears to have won the bulk of Walt Disney's regional media

business, estimated to be worth at least US$10 million.

A number of agencies pitched for the account, however, it was OMD, which

clinched the account in Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines.

Carat, meanwhile, picked up Disney's Malaysia account, while Starcom

took Thailand.

Disney has two main divisions in Asia-Pacific: Buena Vista

International, the company's film entertainment arm; and the consumer

products unit.

Previously, Disney used a mish-mash of media agencies for the two

divisions across the major markets of the region.

The pitch aimed to consolidate the number of agencies it used and this

is something that Disney is doing worldwide, not just in Asia, in order

to gain greater efficiency, a source said.
