OMD wins US$10m Disney account
<p>OMD appears to have won the bulk of Walt Disney's regional media </p><p>business, estimated to be worth at least US$10 million. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>A number of agencies pitched for the account, however, it was OMD, which </p><p>clinched the account in Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Carat, meanwhile, picked up Disney's Malaysia account, while Starcom </p><p>took Thailand. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Disney has two main divisions in Asia-Pacific: Buena Vista </p><p>International, the company's film entertainment arm; and the consumer </p><p>products unit. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Previously, Disney used a mish-mash of media agencies for the two </p><p>divisions across the major markets of the region. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The pitch aimed to consolidate the number of agencies it used and this </p><p>is something that Disney is doing worldwide, not just in Asia, in order </p><p>to gain greater efficiency, a source said. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
