OMD opens doors in Indonesia

JAKARTA - OMD has launched in Indonesia through a partnership between Media Direction Indonesia and the media arm of local shop PT Komunika Cegas Ilhami.

The Omnicom media agency will be run by Media Direction MD, Wiwiek Siswanti, who will report to OMD Southeast Asia regional managing director Jim Goh.

"The deal will shift us into the top five in the Indonesian market," said Goh. "Before we focus on growth we want to ensure we have the right people and tools. Once they are in place, the business will come." He added: "Then we will look to secure more regional and global business that OMD handles elsewhere such as Pepsi, McDonald's and Beiersdorf."

OMD Indonesia has 30 staff and clients including Fonterra, Masterfoods, Quaker, Visa and FedEx.
