OMD ends MindShare's reign at Singapore awards

SINGAPORE - OMD ended MindShare's dominance of Singapore's Advertising Hall of Fame Awards by claiming the media agency of the year mantle.

The Omnicom agency saw off finalists MEC, Universal McCann and sister shop PHD to claim the award, won for the past three years by MindShare. Saatchi & Saatchi beat BBDO, JWT, DDB and Crush to win advertising agency of the year, thanks to campaigns for Guinness, UOB and Sony Ericsson.

DDB president and CEO David Tang (pictured) went one better than last year, claiming the advertising professional of the year award. Creative director of the year went to Y&R's Patrick Low ahead of Leo Burnett's Chris Chiu, Ogilvy's Sonal Dabral, DDB's Terrance Tan and Ng Tian It, formerly of Batey.

The Singaporean Air Force won advertiser of the year ahead of HSBC, Nokia, Unilever and the Health Promotion Board. Former Ogilvy and Batey boss Rod Pullen, dubbed the "Godfather of Asian advertising" by event organiser Institute of Advertising, was awarded a lifetime achievement award.
