Pauline Tsang, who was based in Shanghai as Carat Asia-Pacific’s regional business director since 2004, has joined the network’s Guang-zhou operation as general manager, replacing Cathy Wen who is departing for Canada with her family.
Meanwhile, Martin He, previously buying director in Guangzhou, has been promoted to deputy GM, reporting to Tsang, after five years with the network.
“We face several challenges — primarily growing new business in Guangzhou, which won’t be easy. There’s just not that many pitches compared with Beijing and Shanghai,” said Tsang.
Tsang said she would take a hands-on role with clients in Guangzhou, with Amway and consumer durables manufacturer TCL among the key accounts. She will report to Elaine Ip, MD, OMD China.
In Shanghai, OMD has also lured former Euro RSCG Taipei digital business director James Wu as associate digital planning director, while former JCDecaux marketing director Willian Uy comes on board as outdoor director.
