OMD announces two new senior additions in China

Shanghai - OMD has announced Ben Jankowski, its current Johnson & Johnson global account lead, will now be based at the network's Shanghai office, while former Publicis Modem regional managing director Arlene Ang joins OMD Beijing as head of Intel cum digital lead.

Ang will replace Martin Shaw, who will move to Shanghai to take on the role as the new head of digital for OMD Shanghai.

“We are very excited to be working more closely with Ben and to have Arlene join the ranks at OMD China," said Winnie Lee, managing director of OMD China. "Both of them are very well-respected in their areas and I have no doubt that they will build on our network’s established position in China as the leading media services company and take the business to even greater heights.”

Jankowski has led the Johnson & Johnson business globally at OMD since 2008, working across functional and geographic lines for the Johnson & Johnson account within the 27 markets where OMD enjoys a relationship with the FMCG giant.

He said: “China is the place to be. This is a country with a strong pulse, being one of Asia’s key drivers of growth, and I am very excited to be able to focus my energies in this dynamic market to help drive the Johnson & Johnson business further.”

Ang is an industry veteran with more than 20 years' experience in Asia and had left her role as regional MD for Publicis Modem in April.

She said: “I have long admired the OMD culture, its reputation as a strong media network and its roster of category-leading clients. It is an extremely well respected and dynamic agency and I’m very excited to be working with the team here.”
