BANGKOK: Ogilvy & Mather Thailand took the lion's share of prizes
at the 25th Top Advertising Content of Thailand (TACT) awards.
It won 18 prizes, including 12 golds and the much-coveted most creative
television commercial award for the multi-awarded "Torture" TVC for
Wrangler jeans.
BBDO Bangkok came second with 12 awards and J. Walter Thompson third
with eight prizes. The Wrangler TVC features a woman washing her
boyfriend's jeans only to find a phone number and bra in one of the
pockets. The TVC also won the award for best production. "It was in our
business plan that we win awards and be number one at TACT," said O&M
managing director Witawat Jayapani.
The night was capped by the presentation of the Chaweewan Award to
legendary creative, Barry Owen, the former creative head at O&M
Thailand, for his contribution to Thailand's ad industry.
