The Okinawa Convention Bureau is predicting a resurgence in convention, exhibition and incentive (CEI) business following July's G8 Summit.

"We have had a significant boost in enquiries," bureau co-ordinator convention markets Ms Yuka Onaga said.

"While we cannot give an exact figure on how much we believe this business will grow, we are hoping to see a 30% growth over the next three years."

Ms Onaga added hosting the summit had given hotels in Okinawa the opportunity to train their own staff in welcoming large delegations.

However, while the bureau expected growth in the CEI sector, there are no plans for more hotels.
