In his new role, Paysant will report to Paul Heath, CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Asia-Pacific, and lead the 12-strong team at OgilvyAction Hong Kong to engage a number of their leading global clients.

Paysant joined Ogilvy in 2008 and was previously the business director of OgilvyAction overseeing the BAT Global Travel Retail (GTR) business across Asia-Pacific.

With 12 years' integrated marketing experience in the Asia-Pacific tobacco industry and expertise in area marketing and duty free channel management, Paysant oversaw a wide variety of programmes for tobacco firms including ALTADIS and Gallaher.

"David has leveraged this experience on BAT, OgilvyAction's largest account, in driving a series of channel innovations in travel retail that have been recognised as global best practices," said Heath. "We look forward to seeing big growth in the activation services business in Hong Kong."

OgilvyAction delivers a broad range of services including experiential marketing, shopper marketing, trade marketing and promotional marketing.

Meanwhile, OgilvyAction China promoted Patti Sun to president last December.
