Ogilvy wins top prize at Agency of the Year 2006

HONG KONG - Media's first ever Network of the Year prize - a new award saluting the region's strongest network group - has been awarded to Ogilvy & Mather at Media's Agency of the Year competition 2006.

Ogilvy also picked up Creative Agency of the Year, in a gala event held in Hong Kong's Grand Hyatt hotel. OMD took Media Agency of the Year, and Ogilvy sibling OgilvyOne was named One-To-One Agency of the Year.

The wins capped a successful night for the Ogilvy network. Chairman and CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Beijing Shenan Chuang took home the Agency Head of the Year accolade, while Ogilvy Beijing was also named Office of the Year.

One of Ogilvy's major clients also had cause to celebrate - Motorola was named Brand of the Year, while Neil Stewart, Motorola's marketing director for high growth markets, mobile devices, was Client Marketer of the Year.

Omnicom's OMD media network had a good evening too. In addition to clinching Media Agency of the Year, Omnicom Media Group's Asia-Pacific CEO Mike Cooper scooped Regional Agency Head of the Year and OMD Hong Kong's GM Caroline Chan was named Media Planner/Buyer of the Year.

Meanwhile, Jean-Paul Burge, multinational business director for BBDO Asia, won the Account/Business Development Person of the Year award, while Creative of the Year honours went to JEH United founder, Jureeporn Thaidumrong.
