SHANGHAI Johnson & Johnson joint-venture Xian Janssen has handed Ogilvy  Advertising Beijing creative duties on three brands - Daktarin, Pevisone and Triatop, following a recent pitch.

The development also sees DraftFCB pick up creative for a Xian Janssen anti-allergy product although, at press time, further details were unclear.

The review also reportedly included Leo Burnett. Daktarin and Pevisone were previously handled by Saatchi & Saatchi, which also lost Xian Janssen's number one brand Motillium, along with Gyno-Daktarin to DMG earlier this year (Media, 19 October).

The combined value of Daktarin and Pevison is Rmb 100 million (US$15 million). Daktarin is the second-largest Xian Janssen brand in terms of sales, raking in almost Rmb  700 million in revenue last year. Both brands face challenges from copycat products.

The pitch is believed to have been sparked by the arrival of former GlaxoSmithKline executive Michael Cheah as president of Xian Janssen.
