Ogilvy wins eight-way pitch for WWF account in the Philippines

MANILA - The World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) Philippines has appointed Ogilvy & Mather as its creative agency to help generate support and financial aid for its marine conservation efforts.

According to Adobo Magazine, it was the first time WWF had called for such a pitch. Eight agencies and production houses including DM9, Saatchi & Saatchi, and A Different Story were involved in the review.

According to the WWF, Ogilvy's insightful response to their brief was key to the WPP agency winning the account.

As one of its marine conservation efforts, WWF currently targets The Coral Triangle, a diverse marine region containing more than 500 species of reef-building coral, covering around six million square kilometers of ocean across six countries. These include Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Solomon Islands, and Timor-Leste.

The Coral Triangle also directly sustains the lives of more than 120 million people and contains key spawning and nursery grounds for tuna, while healthy reef and coastal systems underpin a growing tourism sector.

WWF is working with other NGOs, multilateral agencies and governments around the world to support conservation efforts in the Coral Triangle.
