Ogilvy lands Tango biscuit business

JAKARTA - Tango, Indonesia's most popular biscuit brand, has awarded its creative account to Ogilvy & Mather following a four-way pitch.

Ogilvy saw off Grey, Deasphere and incumbent JWT to win the Orang Tue (OT) Group-owned brand account, and has been hired as Tango's 360-degree agency. A final shoot-out involved Grey and Ogilvy. Media was not part of the pitch. The brief is to make the brand ?ore famous and grow sales exponentially?

Joseph Tan, managing director of Ogilvy Jakarta, said: "JWT has done a good job of developing some interesting creative for Tango, and has helped the brand stand out in its category. Our job is not to reinvent the wheel, but to take the brand to the next level."

Tango is part of the consumer goods company OT, which produces other popular snacks Capilano's, Oops, Cannon Ball and Mio, as well as sanitary care products such as HoneySoft.
