OFF THE VINE: Tim Czechs out what's hot in Asian creative

We have news from far-flung friends ... former DY&R Hong Kong CD

Tim Crowther, whose departure from Asia created a huge sartorial gap

when he took his velvet smoking jackets and eclectic couture with him to

Prague, hailed us out of the blue with a cheery "Dobry den!" (which is

Czech for jo sun, just in case you didn't know).

He has just launched his own creative training company, called Adtrain,

and such is his growing stature in the Czech ad industry that he has

been asked by the new local trade rag to contribute articles on the

latest creative work from Hong Kong, China and Asia.

"There's a lot of interest by young Czech creatives in what's being done

over there," he told Vine.

But despite having reached such lofty heights, Tim's heart remains

firmly planted in Hong Kong: "Please say 'hi' to the dear old Fragrant

Harbour for me," he said, tearfully.

Tim, it pains us greatly to have to report to you that the legendary

harbour in Hong Kong is not fragrant, never was and never will

be ...

Unless your use of the word "fragrant" was actually a polite euphemism

for "stinking", of course.
