The inaugural MEDIA dotcom.awards at the end of last month proved

an eye-opener for several reasons, which we will painstakingly list

below.

First, the fact that MEDIA boss Ken McKenzie is now licensed to publicly

insult and offend anyone he cares to, and that includes making fat

jokes, unemployed jokes, and communist jokes.

Secondly, the fact that MEDIA adsales director Steve Bruce has his own

spacesuit, which he wears when relaxing at home, watching TV and sipping

a chilled chardonnay.

Thirdly, the dotcom dudes and dudettes proved a sorry lot when it came

to dressing up, bar a handful of truly inspired folk: so a big hand to

our dotcom.awards prom king Hermann Ruegg and prom queens Miriam Tong

and Simone Schaerf, for rising magnificently to the occasion.
