Ocean Park uses Halloween party to build its brand

Home-growntheme park Ocean Park is gearing up for its biggest event of the year - the annual Halloween Bash - which is expected to draw nearly 400,000 visitors.

The park, which is battling to build its brand and strengthen its offering ahead of the opening of Disneyland Hong Kong, has launched an advertising campaign targeting teens and families. Developed by Grey Global Group, the campaign uses menacing monsters and ghosts to build buzz around the park's Halloween attractions. These include a spider-infested haunted house. Vivan Lee, Ocean Park Hong Kong's marketing manager, said: "Each year, our agency has to come up with a new concept that can feature our new attractions. This year, our ad campaign uses an illustration style that's colourful and will grab attention."
