Koh Ching Ching, head of group corporate communications at OCBC Bank, said: “We’re in the process of calling a new pitch to support our above-the-line marketing communications efforts for our key markets, except China.
“We have a good working relationship with Y&R so naturally the agency will be invited to participate in this pitch.”
Tanuj Philip, Y&R Singapore’s chief executive, confirmed the agency would take part in the pitch. The agency has worked with OCBC since January 2006.
Prior to Y&R, the OCBC account was handled by Batey Advertising.
The development follows the banking group’s appointment of Shanghai Advertising as its creative agency-of-record in mainland China last October after obtaining approval from Chinese authorities to expand its business as a locally incorporated entity in the country.
