NUS hits snag with "dry" brief

SINGAPORE - The National University of Singapore's Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) is looking for a creative agency as it seeks to extend its brand in Asia.

According to a source, a number of “big name” agencies had expressed an interest in pitching, which was called at the end of June and expired 9 July.

“The response is rather lukewarm. Agencies complained that the tender timeline is too short and we extended the deadline by a week. Also, a few turned us down, saying that the portfolio is too dry,” said the source.

The brief, available on the Government’s online tender website GeBiz, stated that the winning agency would have to seek out “non-conventional means to advertise” and create new taglines for the school, among others. LKYSPP, which focuses on social and economic policy changes in Asia, launched in 2004.
