ASIA-PACIFIC: Nokia stole the show at this year's Reader's Digest Trusted Brands Awards, achieving platinum status in each of the seven markets polled, the only brand to do so.

Other platinum winners in individual markets included veterans such as Sony, Canon, DHL and Coca-Cola, as well as new gold recipients such as SKII and Brand's.

The results were based on 7,000 survey responses in Reader's Digest's Asian markets: Hong Kong, India, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

Many of the regional categories confirmed historical ties. The computer category was once again split among Acer, HP and IBM, while Canon and Sony shared the camera category for the seventh year in a row.

Within individual markets, global Japanese and Korean brands such as LG and Panasonic continued to dominate in the electronics category.

However, in industries such as banking and jewellery, local companies emerged as the most trusted brands.

This was India's first year on the roster, with plans to include China in the future.
