Nokia shortlist sees brief split into two

HONG KONG - Nokia has split its US$320m global creative review into two components, with Mother, Wieden & Kennedy and JWT set to face off for a brief covering strategy and creative, while DDB, JWT and incumbent Grey/BatesAsia will contest another brief covering network distribution.

The development means that of the six agencies initially invited to contest the review, only BBH fails to make the cut. The decision to split the brief had been widely expected among agencies involved in the pitch.

Shortlisted agencies are due to submit staffing plans and cost structures to Nokia next week, while an additional round for the strategy and creative brief is also expected.

A final decision is expected by mid-July.
