In addition, China head of communications Thomas Jonsson has been promoted to a newly-created global position as vice-president of communications to oversee the mobile phone giant’s global communications teams.
Jonsson said that he will remain based in Beijing “for now”.
“But longer term, we will have to see,” added Jonsson.
Meanwhile, Leong has confirmed that Nokia China’s digital RFI, which saw submissions from a range of agencies, has been placed on hold, given the current restructuring that the handset brand is undergoing, globally.
All of the changes will come into effect on 1 January.
