Nokia reviews Asia creative AOR

BEIJING - Nokia has called a global review of its mobile phone creative advertising business, putting Asia-Pacific incumbent Bates on alert.

According to Nokia China VP of marketing Chris Leong, the review will see all of Nokia's global incumbent agencies invited, but will not be limited to its current roster alone. While Nokia is still determining exact details regarding agency criteria, Leong said it intends to issue an RFP "fairly soon", before completing the process by the middle of 2007.

At present, creative for Nokia's mobile phones is led by Grey in North America and Europe, while Bates handles Asia-Pacific, including India and China. The review will not include either media or local market below-the line activities.
