Nokia global review calls on Asia offices

GLOBAL- Nokia has kicked off a series of local market meetings as it reaches the final stages of its global creative review, after appointing Wieden & Kennedy (WK) to handle strategy/creative.

The meetings begin in Beijing before rolling out to other Asian markets. Three agencies have been shortlisted to handle the network distribution segment — JWT, DDB and incumbent Grey/Bates. WK, which beat JWT and Mother for the business, has been tasked with developing creative strategies for China, Brazil, India, Russia, US and UK. The agency plans to open an office in New Delhi by year-end, according to WK London MD Neil Christie.  “A key focus is relationships with the networks,” said Nokia global SVP, mobile marketing, Jo Harlow. “There has to be a very strong relationship to ensure we can amplify creatively in individual markets.”
