Nokia campaign puts spotlight on product function

Bates Asia has rolled out a Nokia 6060 campaign for the Greater China market, which focuses on a unique product function - a pulsating red message alert light.

Entitled 'Jellyfish', the TVC opens with a couple venturing out to sea in a small boat. After switching off the engine they wait, only to be greeted by a glowing green jellyfish. The girl shouts with excitement, and is told by her boyfriend to be quiet so as not to scare the fish away. They then begin sending text messages to each other, and the red lights continue to flash, attracting the attention of the jellyfish. The TVC ends with a super, 'Say it with light'. "We wanted to exaggerate the impact of how the phone can help you connect in any situation, including a dark environment," explained Pat Tam, Bates Asia business director. "It is also a key point which will arouse consumer interest."
