Nike Hong Kong shifts business to McCann

HONG KONG - Nike Hong Kong has handed new project business to McCann Erickson Guangming, amid speculation that a fuller creative review is placing AOR JWT's hold on the business under threat.

McCann will handle a brand campaign based on football and a project for Nike’s long-running youth basketball league. Both initiatives begin in mid-May. The football campaign will have include above and below-the-line advertising, along with a mobile phone game.

Meanwhile, Nike is expected to conclude its review shortly, with McCann tipped to take on more duties from the brand.

However, JWT Hong Kong managing director Desmond So confirmed that his agency retains a relationship with Nike. “As far as I know we are still working on some projects and have the AOR relationship,” said So.

Amy Wu, the Nike Hong Kong marketing director who joined from PCCW six months ago was unavailable for comment at press time.
